Shipbreakers of Queenborough acquired a number of former BR Class 03 and 04 shunters. Some were scrapped or resold and a few retained to shunt their premises at Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey. One was 03027, withdrawn from Colchester in January 1976, and photographed on 25th August 1983. It is now preserved at Peak Rail.
