Sunday 3rd July 2005 saw three EWS Class 90s in use with Virgin West Coast, two of which were on Holyhead diagrams. Here 90020 passes Cathiron with 1A41, the 1309 Holyhead-Euston.

Running around an hour early, 47853 heads a 5Z49 1535 Preston-Old Oak Common ECS past Cathiron on Sunday 3rd July 2005. The stock had been used for a Deltic hauled charter the previous day, and 55019 had been dropped off at Crewe enroute, to go light engine to Barrow Hill.

Late running of the southbound working on Friday saw the Murco tanks running on Saturday 9th July, 2005 as 6E70 1015 Bedworth-Port Clarence. Having been tipped off that blue 60078 was running round at Whitacre I made the dash to Hinckley to get this very worthwhile shot...

Having had a blue 60 in sun at Hinckley a shed on an MGR was a bit of an anti-climax but hey, two freights in sun on a Saturday morning...

A nice sunny Sunday morning on 10th July 2005 saw 67025 take the Northern Belle ECS to Oxford, running as the 5Z21 0850 from Crewe CS and seen at Hatton South Junction.

As the previous down Euston service had terminated at Birmingham International due to late running, 90034 unusually departs from platform 5 with the 1B58 running as the 1410 International-Euston on 12th July, 2005.

A second chance to get 90034 in the evening sun on 12th July saw it powering 1B89, the 1800 New Street-Euston past Berkswell.

66538 climbs Hatton bank on Friday 15th July 2005 with the 4M55 1000 Southampton MCT-Lawley St FLT liner.

Having been a regular performer on the EBW circuit all week, I managed another shot of 90034 on 15th July, this time at Bradnocks Marsh, south of Hampton in Arden, with the 1B67 1506 Wolverhampton-Euston.

The 6A42 1515 Bescot Yard-Wembley Yard "Enterprise" conveys the empty vans off the Birch Coppice trip and often acts as a disposal for ferry vans from the North of England and Scotland that congregate at Bescot leading to monster trains. 92027 heads such a working through Berkswell on 15th July, 2005. If only 92s could clag....!

And the final shot of the week of 90034, as it approaches Canley station in the evening of 15th July, with the 1G23 1740 Euston-Wolverhampton.

In nice evening sun, 66036 runs through Canley on Friday 15th July 2005 with 5Z66, the 1552 Old Oak Common-Birmingham International ECS for an overnight Pathfinder tour to Scotland. The Shed worked the train as far as York.
